Announcement:  Hi all! The STEM-Up club is sponsoring another schoolwide competition from December 16 to January 15th, 2020.  Design your own custom recycling bin, door or bulletin board to raise awareness about the benefits of recycling. We will take a photo of your design on January 15th. Top 3 winners will win fabulous prizes. For details email Mrs. Virtudes for the sign-up link. Anyone can join!

Announcement:  Attention Staff and Students: The Science National Honor Society is asking for your help in donating new personal hygiene products or new or slightly used warm clothes and accessories to benefit the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless. Your generous donations will be much appreciated this holiday season. Boxes are available for donations in the main office and in room 3052. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Announcement:  Help a child get the toy of their dreams this Christmas and donate a new, unwrapped toy at GHS basketball game this Friday, December 13th.  Donations can be made by the ticket booth and in room 2052.

 Announcement:  Are you interested in auditioning and participating in GHS’ Spring Musical? Do you need help discovering and improving upon your voice? Join GHS Drama to prepare for the upcoming Musical! We will be holding vocal audition workshops after-school next week, on Tuesday, December 17th and Wednesday, December 18th. Tuesday will be “Getting to know your voice” and Wednesday will be “Selecting an Audition song”. We can’t wait to see you there!

 

Announcement:  Attention all students: We will be having a Spirit Week from December 16th to December 20th.
The following will be the spirit themes:
Monday:  Jersey Monday  (wear your favorite team’s jersey)
Tuesday:  Throwback Tuesday  (dress in the ‘90s themed clothing)
Wednesday:  Wacky Wednesday  (wear your wackiest clothes)
Thursday:  Ugly Sweater Thursday (wear your favorite ugly sweater)
Friday:  Class color day 

On Friday Dec. 20thwe will have a winter pep rally, if you would like to sign up for pep rally game, please see your class officers.

Announcement: The Millionaires Club will meet the first and third Mondays of the month in Room 2024 during lunch. The purpose of this club is to encourage and promote financial and investment literacy by utilizing a stock market simulation and engaging students in practical discussions that will increase their personal financial knowledge

Announcement:  Girls Who Code club will be meeting this Friday, December 13 during lunch in room 1102. Girls Who Code is an exciting club for girls who are interested in computer science and coding!!!  No experience with coding needed.  Please see Ms. Sultana in room 1102 if you have any questions.

Read 3 BES books in a category, vote for your favorite author & enter in a prize drawing. Don't delay, you can submit your book logs online by visiting the Media Center website and clicking on the Black-Eyed Susan tab!

DUAL ENROLLMENT: MC Courses at GHS start Jan. 29!

Juniors and Seniors, now is the time to register for Dual Enrollment courses with Montgomery College.
Graduate from HS with earned college credit, saving time and money! Three MC courses will be offered at Gaithersburg HS during Periods 2 & 3 for second semester. MC Spring semester starts Jan. 27, so apply to MC and enroll in Dual Enrollment now. Financial assistance is available to qualified students. The deadline for the MC HS Grant is Jan. 10. Grant funds are on a first-come, first-served basis. Apply today!

Announcement:  Attention Seniors.  It’s time for you to begin completing your diploma order forms.  Please stop by our friendly counseling office to see the Registrar, Ms. Chase, before school, during lunch or after school.  This process will be open from now until December 20.  See you soon!!

Announcement:  Are you interested in playing Bocce Ball?  What is Bocce Ball you ask?  It’s similar to bowling but more fun!  It’s also an interscholastic sport that competes against MCPS teams with a chance to become a county champion.  If you’re interested please see one of the coaches, Mr. Herndon or Mr. Murray in room 2074.  Practice is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-4 in the Main Gym Lobby.  

Announcement: The Trojan Puzzle Enthusiasts club meets in Room 2080 on Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch.  Please see Mr. Bierly, Mrs. Portell, Mrs. Farrow, or Mr. Murray for a pass.
