Announcement: College visits are open to juniors and seniors.  Please remember to register in advance through Naviance student!  Print your registration page as your pass and add your name and ID number to the top.

Announcement: The Students Against Destructive Decisions meeting is -TODAY - at Lunch in room 3060. All are welcome. See Miss Ward with any questions. 

Announcement: The  STEM-UP @ GHS is inviting students who are looking for alternative opportunities to engage in fun and meaningful STEM learning activities. This is an excellent avenue for students who need more confidence in conducting scientific explorations and conducting experiments. The primary goal of this club is to increase students’ interest, participation and involvement in the field of STEM in multiple ways and in a supportive, inclusive environment that makes STEM accessible for all.  The meeting is TODAY after school in room 1087.  

Announcement: The Chess Club will meet every Tuesday during lunch in room 3034. Please see Mr. Payne in room 3034 for more details

Announcement: If you would like to do something meaningful to protect our environment, we invite you to be a part of our “Let’s Use Reusable Water Bottle at GHS” campaign by helping the STEM-up @ GHS club in our fundraising campaign. We are selling brand new reusable water bottles for one dollar each from September 20th- October 19th.  Proceeds go towards our club members T-shirt and supplies for our upcoming projects. Please see Mrs. Virtudes at room 3060 or 3059 during lunch or after school. 

Announcement:   Want to participate in a Real World Treasure hunting game?  The Geocaching Club meets TODAY during lunch in room 2090. 

Announcement:  SENIORS If you are applying to colleges that have a November 1 deadline please turn in your transcript request forms no later than October 10 to Mrs. Koenick in the counseling office.

Announcement:  Juniors and Seniors, get a jump start on college! See how you can earn Dual Enrollment credit at GHS and Montgomery College. Juniors with an unweighted GPA of 2.75 and Seniors with an unweighted GPA of 2.50 may be eligible with qualifying test scores. Come find out more information for second semester courses. Financial assistance and grants are available for qualifying students. For information, please see Karla Berggren in The College Institute Lounge: Room 2007, 8:00am-12:00pm.

Announcement: The Sewing Club is moving to Tuesdays at 2:40 in room 2039.  

Announcement: Hi staff and students! Do you know that the average time for a plastic bottle to completely degrade is at least 450 years. It can even take some bottles 1000 years to biodegrade. Please help protect the environment and save the Earth by using reusable water bottles. 

Please support the STEM club. Buy brand new reusable water bottles for only one dollar on Sept 24th Tuesday at the Cafeteria and at room 1087...come and help save 1,460 plastic bottles per year by using a reusable bottle

Announcement:Homecoming Tickets and Homecoming T-shirts are now on sale in the cafeteria. Tickets are $20 and you must be obligation free. If you are taking a guest to Homecoming a guest approval form must be filled out. Tickets are on sale until Oct. 3

Announcement: Homecoming tickets can also be purchased online and you must be obligation free to purchase.  If you purchase a ticket online you must pick it up from Mrs. Keres. 

Announcement:  TODAY after school from 2:30- 4pm the first 100 students to go to room 1063 will be able to make a FREE Tye Dye t-shirt to wear for spirit week. 

Announcement:  Are you passionate about race relations and other societal issues that face young adults? If so, then Ebony Awareness needs you! Ebony Awareness provides a safe space to discuss and explore these issues and contend with solutions for these issues. If you are interested in joining, we are hosting an interest meeting this TODAY in room 2054 at lunch. All current members are highly encouraged to attend.  

Announcement:  Delegate Gabe Acevero will be speaking at tomorrow’s Pride Alliance meeting during lunch in room 1123. Everyone is welcome. See Ms. K in Room 1123 with questions.

Announcement:  Food for Thought information meetings are Wednesdays during lunch. Come see how to help feed the homeless and learn to cook. 

Announcement: There’s a new Health club, A Better You, that will meet on Monday, October 7 in the Wellness center at lunch. Contact Mrs. Carey Ostry (nurse practitioner) for questions. 

Announcement: The Millionaires Club will meet the first and third Mondays of the month in Room 2024 during lunch. The purpose of this club is to encourage and promote financial and investment literacy by utilizing a stock market simulation and engaging students in practical discussions that will increase their personal financial knowledge
